We are delighted to share that the Einstein-First project, a groundbreaking science education initiative, has been awarded the Science Engagement Initiative of the Year at the 2024 WA Premier’s Science Awards. This recognition highlights the exceptional impact Einstein-First has made in transforming the way young students, especially girls, engage with and understand modern science.
Dr. Shon Boublil. This has been four years in the making. I am a Ph.D. in physics. I would like to thank my family back in Canada, supervisors, colleagues, and friends that have been with me along the way. Your support came in different forms, and I appreciate it all. 
My peer-reviewed article on “Einstein happiest thought” was just published and showcased on the front cover of the Australian Teaching Science journal.

The University of Western Australia physics is celebrating the centenary of the Wallal eclipse expedition to test Einstein’s general theory of relativity, a heroic effort involving astronomers, filmmakers, aviators, physicists, mathematicians, computer scientists, and the Indigenous Nyungumarta people who welcomed the group to their land.

Shon Boublil, a Canadian physicist, brings Einsteinian physics to Carmel high school in Perth, Australia. This initiative is part of the international Einstein-First project, which originated in Perth, aim at changing the way we teach physics in schools. Shon is currently a physics PhD student at UWA.
Participants presented their findings in this unique session about “Teaching Relativity and Modern Physics in General”. This was a part of a five days on-line conference of leading physicists and educators from around the world. In 2021, this conference commemorates the 100th anniversary of the birth of Andrei D. Sakahrov, and UNESCO has nominated this year A.D. Sakharov year.
